Enterprise Class IT services on a small business budget. Endpoint management, Domain, Web, On Prem, hybrid and cloud infrastructure, email security and deliverability, identity management, Azure/ M365 global and security administration. Private LLM builds on your own or hosted hardware. Keep your private data private.
Six ways to work together. Most clients start with one and expand once things are running.
We handle monitoring, patching, and maintenance around the clock. You get an operations function on retainer without the headcount.
start here →We support endpoints, Microsoft 365, and identity (Entra ID). The help desk is one people can actually reach. The folks who depend on the systems get fast answers.
start here →We do architecture reviews and fractional IT leadership. When a project falls apart mid-flight, we come in and fix it.
start here →We design and build GPU servers around the models you actually run. Self-hosted AI sized to your budget, not rented from someone else's roadmap.
start here →We plan the migration, move or rebuild the workloads, and do the cutover with minimal downtime. Your systems end up in the cloud without the weekend of prayers.
start here →When the cloud bill stops making sense, we move your workloads back home. Same discipline in reverse: planned, tested, and done before your users notice.
start here →I'm Dan Mueller, a senior infrastructure and cloud consultant based in the Twin Cities. When you hire me, you work with me directly. I'm the senior engineer on your account, not a handoff to a junior team. If a job needs a specialty beyond what I cover in-house, I bring in a senior engineer I trust, or route it to a firm better built for the scope. Either way, you deal with one point of contact who knows your whole stack and answers the phone.
Right now I'm consulting with Irulast, architecting Azure and Microsoft 365 security across multiple client environments and deploying local LLMs on owned hardware. Before that I was a Senior Server Engineer and Principal Enterprise Architect at Datasite (2019-2024), a global M&A AI SaaS platform, where I cut Azure spend more than $300K a year, led the data-center consolidation (closing three sites, zero downtime on the critical DNS move), and scaled Windows Virtual Desktop from a 2019 pilot to production across three continents.
Before Datasite I was Principal IT Engineer at NucleusHealth (2016-2018), running hybrid infrastructure for a medical imaging and teleradiology platform across 400+ remote sites under HIPAA, and cut annual IT spend 16% (about $400K) while holding service quality steady. At Wizmo (2013-2016), as Lead Engineer, I led the move off legacy Citrix and XenApp onto a XenServer virtual desktop platform, and during my on-call weeks I performed maintenance and upgrades across 30 different client environments.
Today I help small and mid-sized organizations get the same enterprise-grade architecture, security, and cost discipline, at a fraction of big-firm rates.
Dan and I have worked together in multiple organizations, most recently with Dan working directly for me, though I've previously worked directly for him. Having this rare perspective, I can say with all confidence that Dan champions best practices and doing the right thing within the Technology Realm, both as a technology leader and a technology expert. Dan insists that standards are set and met first by himself and then he mentors the team members to meet or exceed these same standards.
Dan always has one eye on reducing costs and the other on leveraging technology to its fullest. Every IT dollar spent under his watch is scrutinized to ensure that the best value is received for that dollar. He is a master in Vendor Relations where he is able to negotiate deals that would make any Ivy League graduate proud to have him as part of their team.
Dan is technically savvy in any environment, quickly mastering whatever bailiwick is thrust upon him. He then works tirelessly to expand his reach to better integrate everything within his sphere of influence. Dan thrives on building technology and business systems that run smoothly and effortlessly, always asking “How can this be better right now?”
Dan is powerful in all areas of business because he is able to extract efficiencies and ensure smoothness with everyone and everything he encounters. Dan is a valuable key player in any organization desiring to evolve beyond their status quo and move into the future. Dan knows that businesses must evolve and innovate to survive and will unabashedly take you to the next level.
Dan is one of the hardest working, committed and flexible IT engineers I have worked with. He has shown me time and time again that he can deliver results, be trusted and provide strategic insights that are impactful to the business. One specific project I worked directly with him on was purchasing a used server off of craigslist and setting it up for R&D use. He was there from the beginning helping me negotiate the price, reviewing the hardware to make sure it was working properly and made sure that it was properly installed in our datacenter and added to the network. This project was done over labor day weekend showing this commitment and efforts to do what he can to help our business succeed. I would expect that any leader that gives him respect would get significant value from him.
Dan is the best IT Director I have had the privilege of working with. He is an excellent leader and can manage IT operations at any level. Dan worked with us for four years and within the first two years he became our IT Director and managed a $1M+ budget for IT. Dan is proactive and configures solutions that are trouble-free and ahead of the industry. He virtualized our aging infrastructure into a geo-redundant Amazon cloud with fully automatic failover helping us experience a massive savings over buying new hardware and maintaining a data center presence.
